Pet Release Form

At AUSSIE PET MOBILE (Aussie Pet Mobile, Inc. and all of its independently owned franchises), we believe grooming should be a stress-free experience for your furry friends. We strive to ensure that every grooming session is as pleasant and positive as possible for your pets. However, our groomers may sometimes encounter unforeseen conditions in pets, such as skin or shampoo allergies, matting, fleas, clipper sensitivity, bone or joint sensitivity, seizures, heart conditions, behavioral issues, and fear. Therefore, we highly recommend that pet owners inform us of any known conditions before grooming to ensure the safety and well-being of their pets during the grooming process.

MEDICAL / VACCINATIONS As a pet owner, it is important that you inform us of any medical, physical, or emotional issues, allergies, sensitivities, or pre-existing conditions that your pet may have. These could include prior surgeries, hip or joint issues, warts, moles, ear infections, or skin problems.

Before bringing your puppies and kittens to us for their first groom, please ensure they have completed all their shots. By signing this release, you confirm that your pets have been vaccinated against rabies, as state law and Aussie Pet Mobile require. We also recommend that your pets are vaccinated against distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza adenovirus type 2, parvovirus, corona, leptospirosis, and Bordetella before being groomed.

If, during the grooming process, we notice that your dog or cat is showing signs of being over-stressed, we may stop the groom to assess the situation and determine whether it is safe to proceed. Please rest assured that your pet's well-being is our top priority.

ACCIDENTS It is important to note that accidents can happen during pet grooming, even when all precautions are taken. The equipment used during grooming is sharp, and it is possible for pets to be accidentally injured, such as cuts, nicks, scratches, or quicking of nails. If such an injury occurs during the grooming process, the groomer will follow our safety and accident procedures and will keep your pet’s safety as our top priority. In the event of a serious injury, the groomer will inform you immediately.

BEHAVIORAL CHALLENGES Aussie Pet Mobile has the right to decline grooming services for any cat or dog that may pose a threat to itself or any person. For the animals' and our groomers' safety, we may be unable to groom a cat that cannot be taken out of its carrier or a dog that requires a muzzle. Pet owners must inform us if their pets have shown aggression towards people, other pets, or specific grooming procedures. We may use muzzles, when necessary, which are not harmful to the pet and help protect the pet and groomers. We reserve the right to refuse or stop services for such pets before or during grooming.

If we arrive at your location and cannot groom your pet for any reason beyond our control, you will be charged a fee. The pet owner may be held responsible in the rare case of any bites that may require medical treatment and any property damage caused by their pet.

FLEAS & TICKS – Authorization for Treatment Please inform us if your pet has fleas before the grooming service. If fleas are found during grooming, your pet may be given a flea bath, and an additional fee will be charged. We use flea and tick treatment solutions. We inform you if a flea bath is necessary. To prevent flea transfer, we reschedule appointments after a pet with fleas and flea bomb the van.

APPOINTMENTS We always aim to arrive as close to the scheduled appointment time as possible. However, we may arrive within a window of 30 minutes, prior to or after your scheduled time. We will communicate any changes to this window.

PRICING Pricing varies according to each pet and is determined by breed, size, and your pet's coat condition. Before your appointment, we will confirm the treatment and the price with you. Additional charges apply for other services provided, including but not limited to de-matting, de-shedding, nail grinding, teeth brushing, and excessive coat and flea treatments due to the additional time and materials it takes to complete such services safely.

MATTING It's important to maintain your pet's coat to avoid health problems. Parasites like fleas and ticks can hide in matted hair, which can cause skin infections and inflammation. Severely matted hair can only be fixed by shaving it off, which can be stressful and painful for your pet. Additionally, your pet might get nicked or cut during the process. If your pet has a double coat, brushing out the undercoat regularly is important to prevent similar skin issues. If your pet has a severely matted coat that can't be untangled, we need your permission to shave your pet's hair short. This will incur an additional fee, depending on the severity of the matting. If we need to reschedule your grooming appointment due to the time needed and severity of the matting while our groomer is already on your premises, a fee will be charged. If the matting is severe, we may recommend you take your pet to a vet. Please note that Aussie Pet Mobile is not responsible for any pre-existing conditions caused by matted hair.

SHAVING The following are some of the possible pre-existing conditions or reactions after being shaved down due to severe matting: 1. Hematoma formation 2. Skin and coat problems, itchiness, and mat sores 3. Matting prevents a proper breed clip 4. Double coated dogs’ coats can be affected by shavedown, resulting in a change in hair texture, color and even patchy growth. After the shave down, your pet may feel vulnerable and itchy and may lick their sores. Please discourage this behavior and give your pet reassuring words and petting.

CANCELLATION / NO SHOW Please be advised that we require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for any changes to or cancellations of your grooming appointment. We will provide reminders of your appointment in advance. Please note that if you fail to provide us with the required 48 hours’ notice, you may be charged a fee that must be paid before your next grooming appointment. Failure to show up for an appointment or not being available to hand over your pet will result in a full charge of the grooming fee as a late cancellation fee. Please note that customers who consistently cancel or reschedule less than 48 hours in advance may be required to prepay for their appointment when booking. If you are not there when we arrive, we will make every effort to communicate with you and will provide a short grace period for you to arrive before leaving and charging a no-show charge.
